Gaylon was born and raised in north Georgia where his Dad Rembert was a bluegrass musician. Although he loves bluegrass,
Gaylon’s heart was in country music. He has played pedal steel guitar since the early 80’s in and around the Atlanta area.
Gaylon has had the pleasure of working with some of the best musicians in the Atlanta area as well as backing a few nationally
known artist such as Johnny Paycheck and George Hamilton IV. However, since April of 2004, Gaylon has been working for
country sensation Gretchen Wilson. Since that time, Gaylon has performed on such television shows as The Tonight Show with
Jay Leno, David Letterman, The Today Show, Regis & Kelly, Grand Ole Opry Live, The CMA's, AMA's, ACM’s, CMT's
Muzik Mafia Series, 60 Minutes, The Canadian CMA's, Australia's Today Show, Australia's Funniest Home Videos, Australia's
Footy Show and the Super Bowl. Shows in Australia, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, England and Canada have almost worn out
his passport already. Tours in the United States have been with the likes of Montgomery Gentry, Brooks & Dunn, Lonestar,
Buddy Jewell, Craig Morgan, She-Daisy, Charlie Daniels, Big & Rich, Kenny Chesney, Uncle Kracker, Trent Willmon,
Jessie Alexander, Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart, Blaine Larsen, Johnny & Donnie Van Zant, Brad Cotter, Travis Tritt,
Kenny Chesney, Uncle Cracker, Miranda Lambert, The Jenkins, Julie Roberts, Toby Keith, Keith Urban, Jo Dee Messina
and others. In addition to pedal steel guitar, Gaylon plays lap steel, dobro and banjo with Gretchen. When home and time permits,
Gaylon stays busy with GEM Productions, a 32 track recording studio that he owns. Even with all this going on, he still keeps
his paramedic license and works part time for a local Emergency Medical Service. Gaylon has three wonderful children.
Will, Hope and Austin. They continue to live in Georgia and Gaylon commutes to Nashville.
