In Memory of Dad

Dad was one of the finest bluegrass banjo pickers in the country.
Thank God his love of music rubbed off on me. He built many acoustic
instruments in his lifetime, many of which I still have. I play a dobro
that he built for me on Gretchen's show. It's one of the finest instruments
I've ever played. I feel close to him now everytime I play it.
Dad retired from the City of Jasper after serving over two decades as a
Police Officer. Most of his career he served as Chief of Police.
Above all his career acomplishments he was best at being a husband
to my Mom Martha for 45 years, a Dad to me for 43 years and a Grandfather
to Will, Austin and Hope. I know he loved us all very much but you
should've seen his eyes light up when the grandkids came around. They
were his pride and joy. He would've done anything for those kids. He will
always be loved and missed dearly by all of us. As time goes on,
our pain slowly eases and the wonderful memories shine through. There
will
never be a day goes by that I don't think of my Dad and thank God for giving
me such a wonderful man in my life. His final resting place is not a grave,
but in our hearts. Rest in peace with God Daddy. I'll see you on the
far side of the sky.
I LOVE YOU
God saw you were getting tired and a
cure was not to be. So He put his arms
around you and whispered, "Come to
Me." With tearful eyes we watched
you, and saw you pass away.
although we loved you dearly, we could
not make you stay. A golden heart
stopped beating, hard working hands to
rest. God broke our hearts to prove to
us, He Only Takes The Best!
Through God and all His wonders
Another Soul's gone Home
Their life and purpose is fulfilled
Their time on earth is done
God understands our mourning
He gives us tears to grieve
He also gives us joy in death
If in him we believe
Yes, God in all His wisdom
Gives us His peace within
In truth we know the one gone home
won victory over sin
So grieve, but too, be gladdened
Whether life be long or short
The love which eyes cannot behold
Still lives within the heart.
